Cacti

Just to start this page, I want to show a few photos of flpowering cacti here. This place is still under construction and will be expanded as soon as I have some spare time.

Mamillaria (Krainzia) guelzowiana is one of the most beautiful cacti in my collection. Every summer for almost 15 years now it has been flowering regularly with 3 to 5 of these huge pink blossoms.

Turbinicarpus flavus is quite a small and very slow growing cactus, but like the above M. guelzowiana it flowers ervery year. When keeping this species one should use a tall pot as the root of the cactus is a water storage adn grows long and thick. The soil should be quite heavy, containing clay.
