Grammostola

This spider is quite common and also very cheap as this species has many many spiderlings in one cocoon. Unfortunately, it is slow to grow and while most other tarantulas have a regular feeding and molting rhythm. Not so this little fellow. Sometimes it stops feeding for a long time or skips a molt. Very unpredictable bit still a nice spider. Especially the adults have a nice rosé sheen on the legs and the carapace.

I currently keep 14 of them. 4 of them are from the same cocoon but all are of different sizes. Some don't seem to have grown at all since I bought them, some more then tripeled in size. The second picture shows an animal that is already a little bit bigger and starts to show the typical rosé color that gave the species its name.
