As with all people from the Rheinland, the people here in Koblenz love to party. Once a year there is an event called Rhein in Flammen (Rhine River in Flames). Then cruise ships go down the Rhine River and in every city they stop there is a fireworks. Since the ships don’t go down all the way from Koblenz to Köln, the Rhineland people have a good reason to celebrate several times during the summer. The best performaces of the fireworks are usually in Koblenz, Bonn and Köln. Here are a few impressions of the fireworks in Koblenz. It takes place above the fortress which creates a beautiful backdrop.
