The city of Köln (Cologne) is very close to Bonn where I live right now constructing these webpages. With approx. 750.000 inhabitants it’s one of the major cities of the region. Several time a year this city becomes the magnet for visitors from all over Germany, I might be tempted to say from all over the world. This is during carneval season (11 November, the opening celebration and sometimes during February-April, main carneval season) and for the CSD (Christopher Street Day). Then the population in the city doubles with almost a million visitors and the whole region celebrates. That is what I found one of the main characteristics of the people from the land arond the Rhine river: They just love to celebrate. And one has to admit, they know how to do that!
