Portraits

Before I start showing the portraits of other people who were brave enough to be around when I'm wielding my camera, I thought I show some photos of myself. These images were taken when I graduated as a PhD at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.

These are photos of myself in the middle of the Negev desert, Israel. The pictures were taken by my friend Kevin and his wife Debbie. Together with their kids we went on a daytrip around the country. After that trip to Israel in July 2000 I decided never to go there again in the middle of summer! I tends to be rather hot in the desert at this time of the year. Well as matters are in this beautiful country, I won’t be visiting it for quite some time now. Just a few weeks after I had left the country, the fighting started again and to me quite honestly, it does not look like it will end in the forseeable future. What a shame, there is so much still to see there for me

This is Heath, the son of my New Zealand friends. These photos were taken in 1998. I was surprised how much he had grown when I visited the family again two years later in Israel! Kids grow so amazingly fast!!!

And this is Briar, their daughter. I took these pictures during her christening party.

This is what you look like when you graduate in psychology at the Otago University in New Zealand. From the color of the cape, the style of the cape, the fabric and color of the gown and the type of hat you can tell exactly what subject a student is graduatin in and at what level. Bachelor, Masters, Honors and PhD all have different styles of clothing for the graduation ceremony.

Noel and Diana also graduated from Otago a few years ago.
